INVITATION FOR BIDS

Procurement of Steel

1. This invitation for bids follows the general procurement notice for this project that appeared in Development Business, issue No. 617 Vol.26 of 31st.Oct.2003 and the earlier bidding on 1st March 2005 for supply of Steel Products.

2. The Islamic Republic of Iran has received a loan from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development ( IBRD ) toward the cost of Earthquake Emergency Recovery Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this loan to payments under the contract for Supply of STEEL.

3. Ministry of Interior on behalf of The Housing Foundation of Islamic Revolution now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for following STEEL:

5. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from Housing Foundation of Islamic Revolution and inspect the bidding documents at the address given in Para. 6 at office timing: 0730 to 1530 hours from Saturday to Wednesday.

A complete set of bidding documents in English may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the address mentioned in Para. 6 and upon payment of a nonrefundable fee of US$ 100 (One Hundred United States Dollars)or its equivalent in a fully convertible currency. 8. Bids must be delivered to the address in Para. 6 at or before 1400 hours on Tuesday 22nd November 2005. All bids must be accompanied by a bid security of one (1) percent of the bid price in the form of Bank Guarantee in strict conformance with the sample form provided in the bidding documents [(section VIII, Sample Forms, Form 2 – Form of Bid Security ( Bank Guarantee)] or certified cheque from a reputable bank, acceptable to the purchaser. Bid security must be in the currency of the bid price or any other freely convertible currency based on the exchange rates published in Financial Times on 1st . November 2005. Bid Security not conforming to these requirements will be rejected. The Bid security must be valid until 30 days beyond the bid validity period. Bids will be opened at the presence of the bidders’ representatives who choose to attend at the address in Para. 9 at 1430 hours on (Tuesday 22nd November 2005). Late bids will be rejected.
