This general procurement notice updates that published in Development Business No. 620 of 16 December 2003

The Palestinian Liberation Organization, for the benefit of the Palestinian Authority, has received a grant from the International Development Association (IDA) in the amount of US$ 20 million equivalent toward the cost of the Gaza Emergency Water Project, and it intends to apply the proceeds of this grant to payments for goods, works, related services and consulting services to be procured under this project. The project will include the following components:

1. Supply of UPVC pipes and ductile iron trunk lines with all associated fittings sizes 2”, 4”,6”, 8”; and
2. Provision of Consulting Services for Technical Audit of the performance of the Operator under the existing management contract.

Procurement of contracts financed by the grant will be conducted through the procedures specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, May 2004), and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries as defined in the guidelines. Consulting services will be selected in accordance with the World Bank’s Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers, May 2004).

Specific procurement notices for contracts for Goods to be bid under the World Bank’s international competitive bidding (ICB) procedures and for large-value consultants’ contracts (US$200,000 and more) will be announced, as they become available, in UN Development Business on February 15th 2006 for the supply of pipes and fittings, and on October 24th, 2005 for consultancy services for the technical audit.

Interested eligible bidders who wish to be included on the mailing list to receive a copy of the advertisement for invitation to bid under ICB procedures, and interested consultants who wish to receive a copy of the advertisement requesting expressions of interest for large-value consultants’ contracts, or those requiring additional information, should contact the address below.
