Request for Expressions of Interest

The Islamic Republic of Iran has received a loan from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) toward the costs of the Ahwaz and Shiraz Water and Sanitation Project and intends to apply a portion of this loan for eligible payments for National or International Consulting Services.

The Shiraz Water and Wastewater Company now invites expressions of interest (EOI), from qualified and experienced National or International Consulting Firms to provide the required consulting services for the Construction Supervision of Wastewater collection Network during the years 2006-2009.

The current master plan and feasibility study was planned for the year of 2027, and is based on the following: a population about 2 million, an area covering 22,000 hectares, total length of main pipes is 157 Km ranging 500-1800 mm, lateral and interceptor networks is 25423 Km ranging 200-400 mm, two treatment plants with total capacity of 369000 m3/day by 7 modules and number of house connections is estimated about 245000.

Three Consulting Engineers Firms are needed for the supervision of the following works by three separate packages:

a) Execution of 650 Km of lateral and interceptor networks with PE. Pipes ranging 200-400 mm in Dia. (simultaneously the house connections would be executed.

b) Execution of 90 Km main, 500-1400 mm Dia. with GRP material.

c) Construction of 40,000 house connections.

Interested firms may associate themselves with other firms to enhance their capacity.

Expression of interest including relevant and specific reference materials, the firm’s capabilities and specific experiences in the region and elsewhere, must be delivered to the address below before November 10, 2005.
