Request for Expressions of Interest

The Islamic Republic of Iran has received a loan from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) toward the costs of the Ahwaz and Shiraz Water and Sanitation Project and intends to applya portion of this loan for eligible payments for Domestic and International Consulting Services.

The Ahwaz Water and Wastewater Company now invites expressions of interest (EOI), from qualified and experienced National or International Consulting Firms to provide consulting services for the construction supervision of Water Distribution Networks contracts in Ahwaz.

A development program has been prepared for the extension of Water distribution network for Ahwaz. The development is proposed to take place in 4 phases to cover the period till the year 2027. Under the phase 1, water netwrok will be rehabilitated and expanded for the period 2004-2009 and population of 1.2 million. The consulting firms will be responsible for the following assignments:

- Study of the background of the Construction Contract Documents;

- Supervision of the works during construction;

- Consultancy services during trial operation period and take#over ofthe project.

Interested firms may associate themselves with other firms to enhancetheir capacity.
