Emergency Baghdad Water and Sanitation Project

GENERAL PROCUREMENT NOTICE

Project ID No. TF 054435

This general procurement notice updates that published in Development Business No. 644 on December 16, 2004

The Mayoralty of Baghdad has received a Grant from the World Bank Trust Fund in the amount of US$ 65 million equivalent toward the cost of the Emergency Baghdad Water and Sanitation Project, and it intends to apply the proceeds of this Grant to payments for goods, works, related services and consulting services to be procured under this project.

The project status is as follows:
A) Goods contracts:
1. (GO1). Supply of 11 kv slip ring vertical motors for operating “2B” pumping station including spare parts for 6 pumps and valves. Goods have been delivered to MOB stores and waiting for formal acceptance.
2. (GO2). Supply of spare parts of 6 pumps at 2B pumping station. Completed
3. (GO3). Supply of valves for "2B" pumping station. Goods have been arrived at Um Qaser port.
4. (GO4). Supply and installation of 6 pumps and spare parts for Abu Nauwas. Parts of goods have been delivered to MOB stores.
5. (G11). Supply of various valves (non-return and pressure control) for “2B” and Abu Nauwas Pumping Station. Parts of goods have been arrived at Um Qaser port.
6. (G10). Supply of pipes of different materials and sizes for the replacement and renewal of water main & secondary system for Al-Zafaaraniah drinking water network. Under evaluation
7. (GO5). (Formally called W03) Supply and installation of electrical / mechanical systems for Completion of Abu Nauwas Raw Water Pumping Station.

B) Consultancy Services Contracts:

1. (CO1), Detailed engineering design and tender documents for: (a) rehabilitation of chlorine and chemical units at Al Karkh Water Treatment Plant; (b) rehabilitation of 2B pumping station at Shark Dijla Water Treatment Plant; (c) rehabilitation and extension of Al Rasheed Water Treatment Plant; (d) Rehabilitation of Abu Nawas Raw Water Pumping Station; (e) upgrade of Al Kharakh Water Treatment Plant; and (f) cross river link. Under preparation

2. (CO2). Detailed design and tender documents for rehabilitation and renewal of Sadr City Sewage Network; completed
3. (CO3). Detailed design and tender documents for rehabilitation and renewal of old drinking water network in Al Za’afaraniah; completed

4. (CO5). Baghdad Comprehensive Development Plan (CCDP); Under evaluation
5. (C12). Construction supervision of: (a) rehabilitation of chlorine and chemical units at Al-Karkh Water Treatment Plant; (b) rehabilitation of 2B pumping station in Shark Dijla Water Treatment Plant; (c) rehabilitation and extension of Al Rasheed Water Treatment Plant; and (c) rehabilitation of Abu Nawas Raw Water Treatment Plant. Under preparation
6. (C13), Construction supervision for rehabilitation and renewal of old drinking water network in Al Za’afaraniah Specific procurement notice for this contract to be bid under the World Bank’s international competitive bidding (ICB) procedures and for large-value consultants’ contracts has been announced, in Development Business and Development gateway Market and local newspapers.

7. (C14). Construction supervision for rehabilitation and renewal of Sadr City Sewerage Network Specific procurement notice for this contract to be bid under the World Bank’s international competitive bidding (ICB) procedures and for large-value consultants’ contracts has been announced, in Development Business and Development gateway Market and local newspapers.

C) Works Contracts: (All the following contracts are under preparation)

1. (WO1) Supply and installation of chlorinators, chemical equipment and ancillaries, including rehabilitation of civil works and supply and installation of miscellaneous items),
2. (WO2), Rehabilitation works in Shark Dijla WTP, including the supply and installation of chlorination units, mechanical and control systems and civil works
3. (WO4), Construction of new water intake at Abu Nawas pumping station.
4. (WO5), Rehabilitation & renewal of Sadr City Sewerage Network
- (WO5a) Supply and installation of sewer pipes in the Distric (55A), ranging in diameter from 150 to 400mm including House connections
- (WO5b) Supply and installation of sewer pipes in the Distric (10), ranging in diameter from 150 to 400mm including House connections
- (WO5c) Supply and installation of sewer pipes in the Districts (38 ), ranging in diameter from 150 to 400mm including House connections
- (WO5d) Supply and installation of sewer pipes in the District (79), ranging in diameter from 150 to 400mm including House connections.
-(WO5e) Supply and installation of sewer pipes in the District (78), ranging in diameter from 150 to 400mm including House connections
5. (WO6), Rehabilitation and Renewal of old drinking water network in Al-Za'afaraniah
- (WO6A) Installation of pipes of different materials and sizes for the replacement and renewal of water main & secondary system
- (WO6B) Installation of pipes of different materials and sizes for the replacement and renewal of water main & secondary system
