YEMEN
URBAN WATER SUPPLY AND SANITATION PROJECT
PROCUREMENT OF SUBMERSIBLE PUMPING UNIT FOR DEEP WELLS No.SANGD-2
Credit No. 3700-YEM

1. This invitation for bids follows the general procurement notice for this project that appeared in Development Business, issue no. 583 of May 31, 2002
2. The Government of the Republic of Yemen has received a credit from the International Development Association toward the cost of Urban Water Supply and Sanitation Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this credit to payments under the contract for procurement of submersible pumping unit for deep wells / Contract No. SANGD-2.
3. The Ministry of Water and Environment now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for 15 Sets of submersible pumping unit for deep wells at Not less than 70% efficiency and Riser Pipe DN 5”,4" ,6m length each (total quantity is 1500 meters). for SANA'A Water and Sanitation Local Corporation.
4. Bidding will be conducted through the international competitive bidding procedures specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries as defined in the Guidelines.
5. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from the Urban Water Supply and Sanitation Project and inspect the bidding documents at the address given below from 09:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
6. A complete set of bidding documents in English may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of written application to the address below and upon payment of a nonrefundable fee of US$ 50 or its equivalent in a freely-convertible currency. The method of payment will be in cash or certified check. The document will be sent by express mail for an additional amount of US$ 50.
7. Bids must be delivered to the address below at or before 11:00 pm on Sunday, 6 May, 2007. All bids must be accompanied by a bid security of minimum 2.5 % of the total Bid Price. Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders’ representatives, who choose to attend at the address below at 11:00pm on Sunday, 6 May, 2007.
