This invitation for prequalification follows the general procurement notice for this project that appeared in Development Business on-line on 21 September 2005 and in DG Market on 19 September 2005. This notice is an update of the one that was published in dgMarket on 16 October 2007 and in UN Development Business On-line on 17 October 2007 (Notice Number: WB5046-714/07). Please note that deadline for submission of PQ Applications has been changed from 8 December 2007 to 22 December 2007.
The Islamic Republic of Iran has received a loan from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) toward the cost of the Northern Cities Water Supply and Sanitation Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this loan to payments under the contract for RSS7-P71-MT/06. The Guilan Water and Wastewater Company intends to prequalify contractors and/or firms for Procure and Construction of Rasht Wastewater Collection System Main Trunks all in Pipe Jacking method. It is expected that invitations for bid will be made in 30 Jan. 2008.
Prequalification will be conducted through prequalification procedures specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, May 2004, and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries, as defined in the guidelines.

A complete set of the prequalification document in English may be purchased by interested applicants (a) on the submission of a written application to the address above and upon payment of a nonrefundable fee of 900,000 Iranian Rials or USD 100. The method of payment will be cash or direct deposit to account number 982-4 Mellat Bank Madar Sq. Mirdamad Tehran, Branch No.6507/8 in name of Iranab Consulting Engineers, for local currency, and account number 4300373 Melli Iran Bank Kashef Tehran, Branch No.1551 in name of Reza Hodjreh for USD. The document will be sent via airmail or DHL and also allow all potential bidders to pick up the documents if they choose so.
Applications for prequalification should be submitted in sealed envelopes, delivered to the Guilan Water and Wastewater Company at address below by 22 December 2007, and be clearly marked “Application to Prequalify for “Rasht Wastewater Collection System Main Trunks” in contract no. “RSS7-P71-MT/06”.
