This Specific Procurement Notice follows the General Procurement Notice published in
UN Development Bussiness and dgmarket on July 16, 2008 No. 2808450

The MINISTRY OF HEALTH, GHANA has applied for a Loan of Twenty Five Million United States Dollars (USD 25,000,000.00. from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD)/International Development Association (IDA) towards the cost of Implementing the Nutrition and Malaria Control For Child Survival Project for a period of Five Years.
The Ministry of Health, Ghana intends to apply part of the proceeds of this loan to payments for the Procurement of Weighing Scales. Bidding will be governed by the World Bank’s eligibility rules : Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits, May 2004 (revised October 2006), and is open to all bidders from eligible source countries as defined in the guidelines and procedures as well as the provisions of the Ghana Public Procurement Law; Act 663.
The Ministry of Health, Ghana, now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the supply of the under-listed weighing scales. The delivery period is Ninety days after contract signing.

Eligible bidders may obtain further information from and inspect the bidding documents at the Ministry of Health Procurement Unit at the address below.
A complete set of bidding documents in ENGLISH may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a non refundable fee of One Hundred and Fifty United States Dollars or its equivalence in Ghana Cedis. The method of payment will be by cash. The document will be sent by courier upon the payment of an additional One Hundred Dollars for bidders who so wish.
Bids must be delivered to the address below by 4th September, 2008 at10.00 am. All bids must be accompanied by a minimum Bid Security of 2% of the total Bid Price in any freely convertible currency. Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of bidders’ representatives who choose to attend at the address below:
