Consulting Services: PROVISION OF CONSTRUCTION SUPERVISION FOR THE REHABILITATION OF BUIPE – TAMALE ROAD WORKS

REQUEST FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST

1. This request for expressions of interest follows the General Procurement Notice for this project that appeared in Development Business No. 2758349 of July 30, 2008.

2. The Government of Ghana has received a credit from the International Development Association (IDA) towards the cost of Ghana’s component of the regional West Africa Transport and Transit Facilitation Project (WATTFP) and intends to apply part of the proceeds of this credit to payments under the contract for supervision of the Buipe-Tamale road works (103.39 km).

3. The services include the supervision of the rehabilitation of the existing 7.3 metre asphaltic concrete carriageway, drainage works and replacement of road furniture on the 103.39 km road where necessary. The construction period is estimated as eighteen (18) calendar months in addition to a Defect Liability Period of twelve (12) calendar months.

4. The Ministry of Transportation (MoT), acting through the Ghana Highway Authority, now invites eligible Consultants to indicate their interest in providing the works supervision services. Interested Consultants must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services by including brochures, description of similar assignments, availability of appropriate skills and personnel, etc. Consultants may associate to enhance their qualification.

5. A Consultant will be selected in accordance with the procedures set out in the World Bank's Guidelines: Selection and Employment of Consultants by World Bank Borrowers, May 2004 (revised October 2006).

6. Interested Consultants may obtain further information at the address below from 0900 to 1600 hours each working day.

7. Expression of Interest must be delivered to the address below by 10.00am on
4th September, 2008.
