Base wide event--OKTOBERFEST
For more than 50 years Edwards Air Force Base has been distinguished by more major milestones in flight than any other place on earth. Covering nearly 301,000 acres, Edwards is located in the Mojave Desert, adjacent to Rogers Dry Lakebed. Even though remote, Edwards is home to military and their families, as well as employer to over 8,000 civilian employees.

There is something for everyone at OKTOBERFEST which draws crowds of 3,000- 4,000 people of all ages. In addition to the food, beer and musical entertainment there will be a pumpkin carving contest, bouncy castles and face painting for the children, everything you would expect from an OKTOBERFEST celebration. This is a great opportunity to raise customer awareness of your company with this exclusive military demographic.

Sponsorship is fundamental to the success of this event. Edwards AFB invites you to join in supporting the moral, welfare and recreation of our military and their dependents by becoming a commercial sponsor for the Fall Festival. Sponsorship may take the form of monetary or in-kind contributions.

In appreciation for your sponsorship, your company will receive public recognition and exposure. The level of exposure is determined by the level of sponsorship, with all sponsors prominently acknowledged throughout the event. Sponsor exposure may include name and logo recognition on all event print media, including posters, signage, and banners, brochures, pictures and media coverage. More than one sponsor may be accepted and additives will be considered. Request for copies of this solicitation must be received no later than 12September 2008. All offers will be considered.

Under paragraph 4.1 of Air Force Instruction (AFI) 34-407, we are unable to solicit sponsorship from alcohol or tobacco companies, or from defense contractors, including their affiliates, subcontractors, teaming partners, or joint venture partners. Depending on the circumstances, unsolicited sponsorship offers may be accepted if those offers are not in conflict with existing contracts, memorandums of agreement or understanding, or detrimental to business relationships between military and existing civilian contractors. Unsolicited offers are not accepted from barred contractors. If your company is disqualified due to the above criteria, we ask that you do not respond to this sponsorship solicitation.
