Sealed tenders on B-I / B-II forms are invited for the following schemes of Strengthening the Infrastructure System of TMA, Sukkur City and New Sukkur, from approved / enlisted / pre-qualified contractors under PPRA Rules 2004, of Highway Department (for Road Works), Buildings Department (for Building Works), Public Health Department (for Water Supply & Drainage Schemes), District Government / TMA’s (for Parks and Street Lights) for the year 2008-2009 and also registered with Pakistan Engineering Council. The Contractors / Firms fulfilling eligibility criteria under PPRA Rules, 2004 but not registered with any department / local government mentioned above can also participate in the tenders. The limit of category of their registration / renewal should not be less than the total estimated cost of each of the following works for which they wish to participate. (1) Tender documents can be had from the office of the Taluka Officer (Infrastructure), TMA, Sukkur City, on any working day during office hours up to 14.10.2008 on payment of tender fee (non-refundable), specified against each work. (2) Tenders will be received back on 15.10.2008 up to 2:00 p.m. and opened on the same day at 3:00 p.m. in presence of participating contractors. In case the tenders are non-responded, the next dates of issue and opening will be as under: 1st Attempt: Issuance on 21.10.2008 and opening on 22.10.2008 at 03:00 P.M. 2nd Attempt: Issuance on 28.10.2008 and Opening on 29.10.2008 at 03:00 P.M. In case of any reason tenders could not be opened on said date, then the same will be opened on the next working day. (3) Tender documents will strictly be issued to the contractors / firms on the applications on their original letterhead along with the original and attested evidence of the enlistment of the firm with the concerned organizations and registration with PEC and also on depositing a 2% Pay Order from any scheduled bank as Earnest Money in favour of Project Director, Strengthening the Infrastructure System of Taluka Municipal Administration, Sukkur City, of an amount as mentioned above. (4) The contractors must mention their complete and correct present and permanent postal addresses in the tender documents and should quote the rates both in words and in figures. Incomplete, conditional, postal, telegraphic and without earnest money tenders will not be accepted. (5) The Pay Order of the Earnest Money of First, Second & Third lowest bidders will not be returned until the finalization of the case. (6) Only sole manufacturers are entitled to participate in the competition, in case of diesel / gas generators. (7) If the firm / partner is involved in partnership deed, then complete details / instructions and power of attorney must be submitted by the partners of the firm. (8) The contractor must submit with application, Pakistan Engineering Council Certificate (Renewal for current year). (9) Works will be carried out as per approved specification. (10) Competent authority reserves the right to accept or reject any or all tenders, without assigning any reason thereof. The works mentioned in Part “A” and “B” will be supervised from start to completion and the consultants will be responsible for the accuracy of quantities & qualities of the said works / schemes.
