• Bidders shall include a letter from a reputed bank indicating their financial status which will indicate their ability to perform the contract of the magnitude equivalent to the quoted price

(b) Experience and Technical Capacity

The Bidder shall furnish documentary evidence to demonstrate that it meets the following experience requirement(s):

• Bidders must provide evidence of having executed at least two contracts of similar or larger magnitude within the period of last five years.

(c) The Bidder shall furnish documentary evidence to demonstrate that the Goods it offers meet the following usage requirement:
• Manufacturer’s quality standard certificate.

A margin of preference for eligible national contractors shall be applied. Additional details are provided in the Bidding Documents

PROCUREMENT OF GALVANIZED IRON WIRE

1. This Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice for this Project that appeared in Development Business on 8 April 2006.
2. The Islamic Republic of Afghanistan has received a Grant from the International Development Association toward the cost of Emergency Horticulture and Livestock Project and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this Grant to payments under the Contract for Procurement of Goods for Supply of High tensile, 2.0 mm diameter and Low tensile 2.5 mm diameter galvanized iron wire. IFB NO: MAIL/WB/HLP/ICB-2033

Description: a) High tensile, 2.0 mm diameter galvanized iron wire.

Qty: 75 MT

Description: b) Low tensile, 2.5 mm diameter galvanized iron wires

Qty: 7.5 Metric Ton

3. The Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation and Livestock now invites sealed bids from eligible and qualified bidders for Supply of High tensile, 2.0 mm diameter and Low tensile 2.5 mm diameter galvanized iron wire.
4. Bidding will be conducted through the International Competitive Bidding (ICB) procedures specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans and IDA Credits- May 2004, and is open to all bidders from Eligible Source Countries as defined in the Guidelines.
5. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from Procurement Unit, Horticulture and Livestock Project and inspect the bidding documents at the address given below from 9:00 hrs to 14:00 hrs on any working day from Saturday to Thursday.
6. Qualifications requirements include:
(a) Financial Capability

7. A complete set of electronic copy of Bidding Documents in English may be obtained free of charge by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the address below or sending an e-mail to the address below. The Bidding Documents will be sent by electronic mail.
8. Bids must be delivered to the address below at or before 14.00 Hrs (local time) on November 22, 2008. Electronic bidding will not be permitted. Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders’ representatives who choose to attend in person at the address below at 14.00 Hrs (local time) on the same day. All bids must be accompanied by a bid security of US$ 8,000 or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency.
