1. This Invitation for Bids follows the General Procurement Notice for this Project that appeared in the dgMarket (On-line) on February 21, 2008 and in UNDB (On-line) on February 22, 2008 (Notice No.WB929-722/08).
2. The Government of Egypt, with the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS) as the implementing agency, has been approved a loan from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development toward the cost of Natural Gas Connection Project, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this loan to payments under the Contract for PE80 & PE100 Electro Fusion Fittings &Mechanical Joints
3. Town Gas now invites sealed bids from eligible and qualified bidders for PE80 & PE100 Electro Fusion Fittings &Mechanical Joints
4. Bidding will be conducted through the International Competitive Bidding (ICB) procedures specified in the World Bank’s Guidelines: Procurement under IBRD Loans, and is open to all bidders from Eligible Source Countries as defined in the Guidelines.
5. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from Town Gas ; Material General Manager , E mail: materials@towngas.com.eg and inspect the Bidding Documents at the address given below Cornish el Nile – Warrak elarab –Embaba – Giza-Town gas –material department -Post pox 1231 El Ataba from 8 am to 4 pm.

7. A complete set of Bidding Documents in English may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written Application to the address below state address at the end of this ITB and upon payment of a non refundable fee LE 2000 + courier fees or in US$350+courier fees. The method of payment will be Cache The Bidding Documents will be sent by courier.
8. Bids must be delivered to the address below at or before 10 am 10th of November 2008. Electronic bidding will not be permitted. Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders’ representatives who choose to attend in person or on-line at the address below at 10:00 am. All bids must be accompanied by a “Bid Security” of:-

For PE80 & PE100 Electro Fusion Fittings (lot 1): US$ 100.000
For Mechanical Joints (lot 2): US$ 15.000
For both lots (1&2) : US$ 115.000
or an equivalent amount in a freely convertible currency.
