Higher Education Commission, Islamabad intends to invite the bids for 332 Return tickets from Havana - Pakistan - Havana under the project titled "1000 Cuban Scholarships for studies in General Comprehensive Medicine (equivalent to MBBS)" for the students studying in Cuba on two months vacations to Pakistan. Only financially sound and IATA approved Agents / Chartered Service Providers are invited to quote the rates of 332 return air tickets (inclusive all taxes/visa charges If applicable) from Havana - Pakistan - Havana on the following terms and conditions: a) The rates must be quoted separately for Chartered / Space Chartered flights. The departure of students from Havana to Pakistan (Islamabad, Peshawar, Karachi, Lahore, Quetta, Multan) must be completed between 3rd-10th November. 2008 and return Of students from Pakistan (Islamabad, Peshawar, Karachi, Lahore, Quetta, and Multan) to Havana must be completed between 3rd -10" January. 2009.
b) In case, transit visa is required for the students in the selected routes, the company would be responsible to arrange the transit Visas at his own expense and cost.
c) Quoted rates should remain valid for 90 days after opening of the tender.
d) The firms/Companies/Agents approved by the IATA must be registered with the sales tax department /income tax department.
e) Return tickets would be issued to the students at Havana one week before the commencement of journey.
f) In case of cancellation of tickets, refund or adjustment of the same will be ensured within one week.
g) Bid security in the shape of bank draft / pay order - to the tune of 5% of the total tender cost should be attached with the bid and without which tender will not be accepted.
h) 50 % payment of the total cost would be made to the company after return of the students from Cuba to Pakistan and rest of the amount would be made after completion of the assignment.
I) Tender documents can be purchased from the Finance Division, HEC, H-9 Islamabad against cash payment of Rs. 500/- only.
j) Sealed tenders / quotations should be dropped in the tender box on or before 14th October 2008 at 3:30 pm. The sealed tenders would be opened by the Tender Committee on the same day at 4:00 pm Mural Hall, HEC, Sector H-9 Islamabad.
k) HEC reserves the right to select the best possible routes in terms of time and money.
I) HEC reserves the right to accept or cancel any or all tenders. The decision of the committee will not be challenged in any court of law.
