ACQUISITION OF PIPES FOR THE EXPANSION OF THE INTEGRATED SYSTEM OF WATER SUPPLY FOR AGRESTINA, STATE OF PERNAMBUCO - ICB 001/2008

The Federative Republic of Brazil has received a financing from the World Bank toward the cost of the Federal Water Resources Management Project - PROÁGUA Nacional, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds toward payments under the contract for Contract for Acquisition of Pipes for the Expansion of the Integrated System of Water Supply for Agrestina. The Water Resources State Secretariat – SRH now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for Acquisition of Pipes for the Agrestina Pipeline System, according the lots: Lot 1 Pipes – Pressure Class of 1.0 Mpa (Φ 200, 250 and 300 mm); and Lot 2 Pipes – Pressure Class of 2.5 Mpa (Φ 250 and 300 mm).

Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from the Water Resources State Secretariat – SRH and inspect the Bidding Documents at the address given below from 09:00 a.m. to 05:00 p.m. A complete set of bidding documents in English and Portuguese may be purchased by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the address below and upon payment of a nonrefundable fee of R$ 200,00 (two hundred reais) or in another freely convertible currency. The method of payment will be direct deposit payable to the Secretaria de Recursos Hídricos do Estado de Pernambuco (SRH), agency 1001-4, account number 8034643, Banco 356 (Banco Real). The document will be sent by airmail for overseas delivery or surface mail or courier for local delivery.

Bids must be delivered to the address below at or before 10:00 a.m. on December 01, 2008. Electronic bidding will not be permitted. Late bids will be rejected. They will be opened immediately thereafter, in the presence of bidders' representatives, who choose to attend, at the address below. Late bids will be rejected. All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security of:
